Wine description
- Cuvée paying tribute to the father of Gérard Bertrand, who adored this plot of old Carignan vines, some of which are over 100 years old
- The name Forge comes from the land registry — on the plot are found all the elements needed for forging: wood for the fire and water to cool the metal
- With great breadth, the palate reveals powerful and elegant aromas evoking "confiturés" red fruits. It is a very great wine with high ageing potential (20 years)

Winemaking and ageing
La Forge was Georges Bertrand's favourite plot, home to century-old Carignan and old Syrah vines. From his very first harvests, biting into the grapes and walking the rows with his father, Gérard Bertrand had sensed the quality of skin and tannins that the age of the vines imparts to the grapes they produce. Alongside his father, he learned the pursuit of excellence through attention to the thousand and one details. "If you want to plough a straight furrow, hitch your plough to a star" (Guy de la Rigaudie). This is Gérard Bertrand's quest to continue the work begun by his father. "La Forge is the true alchemy of the grape and the terroir and everything I know today. It resembles no other and reveals the personality of Georges Bertrand."
Tasting note
With a dark robe, the colour of ripe cherries,
the explosive nose opens on notes of toasted
bread, spices and clove.
With great sweetness, the very full palate
reveals powerful and elegant aromas, evoking
jammy red fruits.
This is a truly great wine with soft tannins and
a spiced finish.

Although all orders are dispatched within 24h, this may take up to 48h in some cases.

Delivery costs depend on the delivery address, the number of bottles and the delivery option (mondial relay, express, standard, 24h, pallet...) and the price is calculated at the time of checkout.
Standard delivery is free in France from €125 and in other countries from €300 of order.
