1975
First harvests
Gérard Bertrand harvests his first grapes at Château de Villemajou, in the heart of the Corbières, discovering his passion for wine. He begins an apprenticeship under his father, Georges Bertrand.

2002
Beginning of biodynamics
The conversion of the estates to biodynamic farming began in 2002
at the Domaine de Cigalus. Beyond the agricultural approach, gérard bertrand
was certain that nature and all its biodiversity deserved to be cultivated with
care and caution. From a simple experiment on 5 hectares of vines,
gérard bertrand noticed the benefits of biodynamics on the ecosystem and
therefore decided to convert the entire Cigalus vineyard to this farming method
the following year.

2015
Wine under the stars
In 2015, éditions de la Martinière published an
autobiographical work "Le Vin à la Belle Etoile" in which
gérard bertrand explains the foundations of his convictions
regarding the practice of biodynamic farming.

2024
100 years of biodynamics
The year 2024 celebrates the centenary of the biodynamic movement worldwide.
Today Gérard Bertrand is proud to announce that his commitment and that of
his teams is reflected in 930 hectares of vineyards cultivated biodynamically,
of which 830 are already Demeter certified. At group level, 2024 also marks
the full completion of the transition to biodynamics. By joining the celebration
of this anniversary, Gérard Bertrand underlines the importance of this
agricultural approach in preserving the land for future generations.
