At the foot of the Pyrenees, the estate's vines reach over 500 metres in altitude: it is one of the highest vineyards in the Haute-Vallée de l'Aude and throughout the Languedoc.
This situation accentuates the freshness of the climate, which is oceanic with a semi-continental tendency, unique in the region. Temperatures there are 2 to 3°C lower than the average recorded in the Languedoc, while rainfall reaches an average of 900 mm per year (compared with 600 mm in Narbonne).
The altitude also enhances the thermal range between summer days and nights, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly, preserving their acidity and guaranteeing the aromatic precision of the wines. The limestone cliff of Roquetaillade overlooks the estate. In the valley, the soils alternate between sandy-clay layers that form an ideal compromise in terms of water and nutrient retention for the vines.
The highest plots extend onto the cliff and its marine limestone component, which brings a mouth-watering tactile dimension to the wines.
