Wine description
Before being an organic wine, Autrement must first be a premium wine held to the high quality standards common to all wines signed by Gérard Bertrand. The consistency of quality is ensured by blending different terroirs. Gérard Bertrand's commitment to the environment is expressed in this range through AB certification by Ecocert, the benchmark label for consumers in France (85% brand awareness in France), as well as environmentally friendly packaging (recycled paper label, raw cardboard, natural Procork stopper). This range is part of a sustainable development policy focused on preserving viticultural landscapes and developing farming that respects the environment and biodiversity. From passionate ecology advocates to consumers seeking "healthy" products, through to wine lovers and gastronomes in search of new sensations, all find an answer to their expectations in the Autrement cuvées.
Food & Wine pairings suggested by our chef
Best enjoyed at 10°C as an aperitif, with Mediterranean
salads, grilled meats, Mediterranean tarts
or stuffed peppers.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are harvested at night and pressed immediately upon arrival at the winery. This grape variety must be vinified with great care, and all operations are carried out under an inert atmosphere. After 48 hours of cold static settling, the juice is vinified in stainless steel vats at low temperatures to enhance fruit aromas. Temperature control helps preserve the freshness and integrity of the aromas. The wine is lightly fined and then bottled in spring to retain its vibrancy.
Tasting note
With a beautiful salmon-coloured, tender and
bright robe, its fine, flattering nose reveals
intense aromas of red fruits, such as raspberry,
cherry, strawberry, and grenadine. Its fresh,
thirst-quenching and straightforward palate
develops on aromas of red fruits, then
white flowers and redcurrant on the finish.
Opulent, aromatic and rounded, it
has a good balance and represents all the
complexity that this grape variety can express on
our Mediterranean terroir.

The ageing potential depends on the cuvée and vintage — it is specified in this wine's technical sheet. In general, our wines for ageing and fine wines can be kept for more than 10 years, or even over 100 years for our fortified sweet wines, whilst our lighter cuvées, intended to be enjoyed young, are best appreciated within 2 to 3 years of purchase.
The alcohol content (% vol.) varies by cuvée and vintage; it is listed in the product’s technical data sheet, below the description.
The majority of our red, white and rosé wines are dry. Our natural sweet wines (Rivesaltes, Maury...) and certain crémants are sweet or semi-dry. The style (dry/sweet) of this cuvée is specified in its description.

Like almost all wines, our cuvées contain sulphites (naturally present during fermentation, sometimes added in small quantities as a preservative). Details (“no added sulphites”, level, etc.) are specified on this product’s technical data sheet and on the back label.
Many Gérard Bertrand cuvées are vegan certified (100% plant-based fining agents, no products of animal origin). This wine’s vegan status is indicated in its certifications on the product page.
A large proportion of our production is certified Organic Agriculture and/or Biodynamic (Demeter). The certifications applicable to this cuvée are listed on its product page under “Certifications”.

This depends on the wine and its age, as specified on the technical data sheet where relevant. As a general rule, our powerful age-worthy wines benefit from being decanted 30 minutes to 1 hour before tasting; lighter wines, whites and rosés can be served directly.
