- Tender, fruity and finely spiced. Aigle Royal offers fine, silky tannins and develops a very great length.
- Since the 2018 vintage, the estate has been certified AB (organic wine) and DEMETER (biodynamic farming).
Food & Wine Pairings suggested by our chef
Best enjoyed at 12-14°C with
grilled red meats, roasted poultry,
grilled fish or fish in sauce, aged
cheeses.
Winemaking and ageing
The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates and, after destemming, transferred to the vat by gravity. Vatting (fermentation and maceration) for 20 days in open vats with punching down twice a day at the start of the vatting period. After pressing and separation of the press wines, the free-run juices are filled into new French oak barrels for ageing of 10 to 12 months. The wine is racked from the barrels and kept in a vat for 1 month to achieve natural clarification. It is bottled without filtration.
Tasting note
Ruby red colour with slight violet hues.
Nose dominated by very intense aromas of small
berry fruits (raspberry, redcurrant),
mingled with some toasted notes.
Tender, fruity and finely spiced palate. The
tannins on the finish are fine and silky with
a very great length and a persistent
finish on the fruit.
Storage
Keep away from sunlight and at a constant temperature
