The harvests, between genesis and intuition

Château de Villemajou, "La Genèse"

« Cradle of a Great Adventure of strength and gentleness. »

It is on this estate located in Corbières, at the heart of the Boutenac cru, that the whole story began. Georges Bertrand purchased the domaine de Villemajou in 1973.

The soil, composed of clay and sandstone, is fed by watercourses coming from the Pyrenees. The vines of the Villemajou estate are the perfect expression of Mediterranean character: they draw their strength deep from the soil, subjected to the force of the wind under a semi-arid climate. The estate has four red grape varieties: (Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre) and three white grape varieties (Marsanne, Roussanne and Vermentino).
This year, the harvest began on 30 August with the Cinsault grape variety.
Each grape variety is vinified separately before being blended in January and then aged for twelve months in new French oak barrels.

Like its century-old vines, the wines produced on the estate of the Château Villemajou can be kept for several years at home.

Cigalus, « l'intuition »

« An estate where, from an intuition, an intention is born, as obvious as the song of the cicadas. »

Nestled in the heart of the Corbières on the terroir of Fontfroide (« cold springs »), the domaine de Cigalus covers 75 hectares. It offers a unique environment thanks to its geographical location: its soil, a clever mix of sandstone and sand, retains water from the surrounding springs and provides constant hydration.

These optimal conditions allow for both red grape varieties (Merlot, Syrah Mourvèdre, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan) as well as white grape varieties (Sauvignon Chardonnay, Viognier).

This year, the harvest began on 18 August with the Chardonnay grape variety.

Each grape variety is vinified separately before being blended in February and then aged for twelve months in new French oak barrels.

All wine bottles are kept for a minimum of one year before being offered to you.
