Article: Freshness and altitude, an exceptional terroir for Chardonnay

Fraîcheur et Altitude, terroir d'exception du Chardonnay

Freshness and altitude, an exceptional terroir for chardonnay

Under the beneficial influence of the Pyrenees, at the heart of a cool and humid microclimate, the vines of Domaine de l'Aigle reach heights of over 500 metres altitude.

This geographical singularity suits particularly well grape varieties such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer, which thrive marvellously.

Thanks to the exceptional terroir and climate of Domaine de l'Aigle and the privileged care given to the vines cultivated using biodynamics, the grapes benefit here from slow ripening, allowing delicate control of the acidity and aromatic palette of the wine.

The great white wines crafted by Gérard Bertrand and his team are of great finesse and remarkable minerality, demonstrating the marvellous suitability of Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer.
