The Bertrand family

Father's day: let us celebrate the bond that unites us!
Two wines in tribute to paternal transmission
To suggest a gift idea of great symbolic significance, or the wine for your family Sunday lunch on Father's Day, we take you today to Boutenac, in the heart of the Corbières.
It was at Château de Villemajou that the transmission of winemaking expertise from father to son took place. Here, in the vineyard and in the cellar, Gérard Bertrand began his initiation alongside Georges Bertrand from the age of 10.
Acquired by the Bertrand family in 1973, the vines of Château de Villemajou surround the buildings and extend across gently sloping hillsides on arid, stony soils battered by winds, summer and winter alike, overlooking the plain.
The syrah, grenache and mourvèdre find a terroir to match their character here. As for the carignans, they are right at home! On the La Forge plot, Georges Bertrand's favourite, their magnificent vines, gnarled by time, are now a century old.
The wines of Château de Villemajou, in the Corbières Boutenac appellation, carry within them the fulfilment of this meticulous work of transmission, magnified each year with love and humility. The cuvée La Forge is a son's poignant tribute to his father.
