Wine description
- Gérard Bertrand révèle l’histoire des grands terroirs du Sud de la France.
- A l’origine des temps, il y a 560 000 ans, nos ancêtres vivaient déjà sur les terres de Tautavel.
- Les paysages magnifiques et séculaires abritent un vignoble dans un amphithéâtre argilo-calcaire et schisteux.

Ideal at 18°C with grilled peppers, pork in
caramel sauce or rabbit with prunes and aged
cheeses.
Winemaking and ageing
Le travail commence au vignoble par une sélection des parcelles les plus aptes à produire ce type de vin.
Les raisins sont récoltés en grande partie manuellement. Un double système de tri est réalisé à la vigne et à la cave.
La vinification est traditionnelle et les raisins sont donc égrappés avant que commence la phase de macération qui dure entre 3 et 4 semaines. Un pressurage est effectué laissant place ensuite à la fermentation malolactique. Un tiers du vin est élevé 9 mois en barriques, le reste étant conservé en cuve.
Tasting note
The colour is deep and brilliant.
The nose reveals a rich palette of dark fruits,
liquorice, truffle and black olive.
The palate offers power, volume, density and a
solid structure, with great freshness,
elegance and already silky tannins. A fleshy
and distinguished wine.
