The Bertrand family
As a visionary winemaker and builder of experiences, Gérard Bertrand initiated the rebirth of the Villa du Château la Sauvageonne, an emblematic place nestled in the heart of the Terrasses du Larzac.
This exceptional wine estate, with its rare volcanic soils and remarkable biodiversity, embodies the perfect union between Languedoc tradition and contemporary creation.
The renovation of Villa Sauvageonne was guided by the spirit of this exceptional wine-growing region, blending Languedoc tradition with contemporary aesthetics. The redefined atmospheres respond to the surrounding landscape through light, color, and finishes. Artistic touches and custom-made furniture make each space in the house unique.
Les Crafties (Sète) designed a vaulted fresco retracing the mythology of Château la Sauvageonne, designers NM3 (Milan, Italy) collaborated on the design of the furniture in red marble from Saint Pons, and ceramist Juliette Perroux (Sète) used the estate's land to create decorated plates, displayed in the kitchen, the heart of the villa, which recontextualizes the typical elements of the Languedoc vegetable garden.
Thanks to the work of architects Delphine Roque (Roque Architectes), Antonio Buonsante, and interior designer Hugo Rossi, as well as the commitment of the Gérard Bertrand group, the project has respected the initial intentions: to enhance the existing qualities of a rich and varied region composed of remarkable landscapes, artisanal excellence, and unique artistic sensibilities. All of this has been achieved without nostalgia, with a vision resolutely turned towards the future.
