Biodynamics - Planetary calendar

Biodynamic agriculture works to nourish the earth, respect living organisms and the terroir, and enhance soil life and plant health. It's a balanced approach to agriculture, based on the good agronomic practices used in organic farming, which invigorates the soil with preparations based on medicinal plants. It uses solar, lunar and planetary rhythms.

Day Leaf

In the vineyards

Applications of herbal teas, nettle and comfrey purines are made at the time of these leaf influences, as well as any stimulation of the plant's sap flow.

In the Cellar

This influence is preferred for our pumping-over operations during the fermentation phase.

Tasting

The leafy days reinforce the watery, vegetal and bitter side, so it's not recommended.

Astronomy

Period when the moon passes in front of the constellations of Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio.

Fruity days are particularly good for tasting. They allow the wines to open up and express their qualities.

Corresponds to the period when the moon passes in front of the constellations of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius.

In the vineyards

Our applications of horn dung and Maria Thun dung compost are carried out at the time of these root influences, as are all the microbiological stimulations of our soils. The pruning of our iconic plots is also carried out at these times.

This influence is chosen for the racking of our particularly open wines, as it helps them to tighten and refocus.

Tasting

Root days give a more mineral, closed character, better suited to terroir wines.
