Organic rosé wine

Why choose an organic rosé wine from Languedoc?

An organic rosé wine from Languedoc

In Languedoc, the wind's caresses and the sun's rays give rise to arid soil, steep slopes and garrigues of authentic richness.

The result of strict quality selection and environmentally-friendly treatments, organic rosé wine from the Languedoc region can legitimately boast the perfect expression of its terroir. With an organic rosé, the development of the grapes themselves is just as important as the work carried out by human hands in the winery.

In fact, organic rosé wine is subject to specific regulations concerning additives and technical production constraints to minimize the impact on health.

And yet, from the very first sip, an organic rosé wine from Languedoc remains organoleptically rich, to the delight of the taste buds of discerning wine lovers.

To enjoy a rosé wine that expresses its terroir

a rosé that expresses its terroir

An AB-certified vineyard is a guarantee that its cultivation is in harmony with the plant and its terroir.

For a rosé wine without synthetic chemical pesticides

Synthetic chemicals include herbicides, fungicides and insecticides. These synthetic chemical pesticides include substances such as glyphosate and neonicotinoids. Pesticides pollute air, water and soil, leading to overall environmental contamination and destroying microflora and fauna. Organic rosé wine is therefore produced without using any synthetic treatments on the vines.

In fact, our rosé A.O.P du Languedoc Source of Joy is produced organically, on a complex network of underground waters ensuring a pure water resource.

To protect the environment and the Languedoc terroir

Organic rosé wine production retains the intrinsic components that reveal the Pays d'Oc terroir of rolled pebble terraces, sandstone and marl, limestone and schist, as well as clay, pudding and even basalt soils.

This is particularly true of our Château La Villa Sauvageonne, located at the gateway to the Causse du Larzac at an altitude of 300 meters. The organic rosé wine produced on this Languedoc terroir with its volcanic past preserves the environment, while restoring the specificity of this climate and soil.

A commitment to viticulture in harmony with nature

In spring, cultivate the soil as late as possible to allow microbial flora and fauna to develop. This in turn encourages the reproduction of auxiliary insects such as ladybugs, butterflies, bees and hoverflies, which help to pollinate local flora. Bees are particularly sensitive to insecticides. Fortunately, in organic farming, we do not use the neonicotinoid molecule, which is toxic to bees, thus preserving biodiversity.

In fact, our Or et Azur organic rosé wine is Bee Friendly. In other words, it's made with grapes that contain no products harmful to pollinating insects.

To preserve the identity of grape varieties

Preserving the identity of grape varieties

Several winemaking techniques are prohibited for organic rosé wines. Complex know-how is required to avoid oxidation and guarantee the wine's structure. Certain practices, such as partial cold concentration of wines for enrichment, electrodialysis and ultrafiltration, are not authorized. As a result, an organic rosé wine is made more closely to the aromatic expression of its terroir, while preserving the authenticity of each grape variety. Grenache Gris and Noir, Cinsault, Mourvèdre and Syrah are selected to ensure that our organic rosé wines respect the terroir.

Like choosing our organic Change 100% Grenache rosé wine and supporting our commitment to producing a wine that respects biodiversity through vinification that respects the aromatic expression of Grenache.

To reduce the impact on health

In addition to being pesticide-free and environmentally friendly, organic rosé wine reduces the intake of chemical substances through ingestion. Inputs to organic wine are tightly controlled, reassuring wine consumers. In addition, to inform people allergic to sulfites, European regulations require the addition of sulfites to be indicated when present at levels of 10 mg/liter. All the more so since, according to the WHO, consuming too much sulfite is bad for your health.

Therefore, the ideal solution for people allergic to sulfites is to drink wine with no added sulfites, such as our vegan-certified organic rosé Prima nature Grenache du pays d'Oc. And for fans of Syrah, the typical Côtes du Rhône grape variety, Prima nature Syrah.

For an honest tasting of Languedoc organic rosé wine

An organic rosé simply expresses the grape's potential in color, aroma and flavor. It's a shame to confine its tasting to summer aperitifs with friends. In reality, an organic rosé wine is a sincere wine that preserves the authenticity of its terroir and grape varieties. It asserts a true personality through its delicate flavors and aromatic finesse. Yet, influenced by the hand of the man who shapes it, its taste balance is unique. Gérard Bertrand's organic rosé wines are a welcome addition to any table. And they lend themselves to every tasting moment, to draw in your glass the story of our Languedoc terroir.

This is also the case for our organic rosé Gris blancserved at a temperature of between 10 and 12°C, with its pale pink color, perfumed with red berries and a refined, perlage mouthfeel that delivers freshness and subtle flavors.
