Less well known than the famous vineyards of southern France are the AOC Pic Saint Loup and the AOC Corbièresthe vin de Fitou is the oldest AOC appellation in Languedoc-Roussillon.
Neighboring the Corbières massif but closer to the Mediterranean Sea, the Fitou vineyards are subject to the region's typical wind, the Tramontane. This cold, dry and powerful wind "cleanses" the sky of clouds, providing ideal sunshine for the vines.
Part of the Héritage range of iconic wines from the Occitanie region, An 990 Fitou is carefully produced to reveal all the characteristics of its terroir. An 990 Fitou refers to the date of the first written record of the Fitou estate.

If we take a closer look at the tasting of this Gérard Bertrand wine, this Cru Héritage 990 ranks among the finest Fitou wines.
An inviting garnet-red color, the nose reveals aromas of ripe fruit, spices and blackcurrant buds. On the palate, the balance is perfect, with a velvety texture and soft tannins. A bottle of Fitou AOC is best served at a temperature of 18°C.
A glass of Fitou wine goes well with grilled meats and, more generally, powerful beef and game dishes.
