Nature at La Sauvageonne is as fierce as it is generous. The terroir is divided between the famous Ruffes soils and areas of sandstone and phonolitic schist (the stones that sing).
Each grape variety has thus been planted in the soil best suited to its expression. Summertime temperature variations slow berry ripening, guaranteeing wines of remarkable aromatic precision.
Each grape variety plays to its strengths, allowing us to create original blends that sublimate their expression. The result is Sauvageonne wines that are unsettling, sensual and elegant.
The Grand Vin Blanc is a blend of Grenache Blanc, Vermentino, Roussanne and Viognier, all from schist terroirs. The Grenache Blanc is vinified in vats, and the other three grape varieties in barrels.
La Villa rosé is an iconoclastic blend of black and white grapes: Grenache, Viognier, Vermentino and Mourvèdre.
The Grand Vin Rouge is the marriage of heart and soul of the majority grape variety, Grenache Noir , blended with Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan from schist and Ruffes terroirs. The combination of these different yet complementary characteristics reveals unrivalled aromatic complexity and textural silkiness.
