Gérard Bertrand has been committed to biodynamic viticulture at Cigalus since 2002. Biodynamic viticulture reinforces the balance between the vines and their environment.
Convinced from the outset thatviticulture in harmony with nature is the best way to revealthe typicity of a terroir and produce Grands Vins, Gérard Bertrand embarked on the path ofbiodynamic viticulture at Cigalus in 2002. This type of cultivation reinforces the balance between the vines and their environment. It reinforces the quality approach begun almost 30 years ago. Today, within the group, 300 people are working to reveal the Grands Vins of this region. A vineyard in excellent health, a preserved environment and enhanced wines demonstrate the relevance of this approach.
Certain parcels have been identified as having unique potential, revealing the particular history of the area and the age of an exceptional terroir. They are recognized as Grands Crus of the South of France. L'Hospitalitas, La Forge, Le Viala and L'Aigle Royal are just some of the nuggets in the collection: Le Clos d'Ora.
In 2012, the first vintage was vinified in a humic setting on the heights of La Livinière. The Syrah and Carignan grapes come mainly from very old vines. The Mourvèdre and Grenache were planted in 2000.
Clos D'Ora is a wine of memory, with a strong sense of identity. Its message: PEACE, LOVE, HARMONY.
