The village of Tautavel is ideally located in Roussillon between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean in a region rich in history, which is one of the cradles of Humanity. Indeed, the 450,000-year-old Homo Erectus Tautavelensis was discovered there in 1971 and its archaeological museum has become one of the most popular cultural attractions in Europe. The vineyard extends over 20 ha of stony soils, on very limestone terraces and hillsides facing South East. The climate is regulated by the Tramontana which favors the ripening of the grapes.
Deep and shiny, slight brown reflections
Fruity with aromas of red fruits and raspberries
Notes of garrigue and spices
Appellation : AOP Côtes du Roussillon Village Tautavel
Cépage : Syrah|Grenache|Carignan
Custody and Service Tips
To be enjoyed at 18°C with duck breast, grilled beef or aged cheeses
The perfectly ripe berries are harvested by hand for greater respect for the aromas. A traditional maceration is carried out for the Syrah and the Grenache and a carbonic maceration for the Carignan. The musts from the different plots are kept separate for as long as possible and the wine is blended in vats just before putting it in barrels. The wine is aged for 12 months in barrels.
