Elizabeth Gabay MW awarded 96 points to Clos du Temple 2018, best grade for a 2018 rosé wine on Decanter.com

In the article published on June 14th entitled, What makes a Premium rosé ?, Elizabeth Gabay MW from Decanter magazine described Clos du Temple as a rosé aiming to show that rosé can be as fine as red wine and able to match the complex flavours of modern cuisine.

This year, Elizabeth Gabay has graded Clos du Temple, vintage 2018 with an exceptional 96 setting the wine at the top of Decanter.com : This wine is pale pink, showing intense creamy fruit alongside a silky texture. It reveals a fine oak and battonage structure, backed by the long fine acidity typical of the schist and limestone hills of the region of Cabrieres, It’s powerful enough to match rich gastronomic flavours but this is a rosé to also lay down in the cellar and watch it develop complex flavours with age. Seven years following the release of Clos d’Ora, we are delighted to announce the creation of Clos du Temple. After many years searching for the perfect site to create an iconic rosé, we have founded an eight-hectare vineyard in the well-preserved Cabrières valley.

Devoted to rosé wines since time immemorial, this schist and limestone terroir shaped by volcanoes proved to be the ideal place for the biodynamic cultivation of the five grapes making up the blend: Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Viognier.

As a universal and oecumenical link between earth and the heavens, the Temple celebrates life, just as this wine of light invites transcendence

With these photographs, the artist captures the suspended moments of an existence, the traces that time leaves on a face crumpled by life or on hands worn out by work.
