syrah carignan grenache mourvèdre
The Château de Tarailhan is located on the Massif de la Clape, a former island between Narbonne and the Mediterranean. The vineyard, between land and sea, benefits from the Mediterranean climate but also from the influence of sea winds. It is a secular domain on which vestiges of the Merovingian period have been found. It also served as the residence of the Narbonnais consuls of the 16th and 17th centuries. Today, the vines are surrounded by scrubland and organic market gardening. They are grown with the greatest respect for nature and the estate is in the process of being converted to biodynamics.

Custody and Service Tips

Serve at 15-16° with charcuterie, roasts, grilled meats, poultry, cheeses.

The Château Tarailhan vineyard is worked in a very qualitative way with moderate yields of around 35hl/ha to obtain concentrated and aromatic grapes. These are harvested manually at optimum maturity, de-stemmed and placed in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats for slow maturation. The different grape varieties are vinified separately and in a traditional way. The aging is done in barrels of 225 liters for 12 months.
