Soil acidity

Soils have a natural tendency to acidify. The causes of this acidification are numerous:

• Mineralization of organic matter related to soil biological life and root activity

• Acid rains

• Ammonia fertilizers and organic fertilizers

As part of a plan of fertilization (compost) by Gérard Bertrand, knowledge of pH is used to choose the form of the nutrients to be brought and to that of organic and calcareous amendments
