Gérard Bertrand elected Winemaker of the year

Gérard Bertrand was elected “Winemaker of the year” by the Belgium Newspaper Het Nieuwslad:

"Gérard Bertrand, 2018 winegrower of the year

After Valentino Sciotti of Farnese Vini last year, we are awarding our distinction this year to an icon of French wine: Gérard Bertrand (53) – the man who put the Languedoc-Roussillon wines back on the map. And there is no shortage of similarities with our last year’s winner – a passion for wine, of course, but also for sport. Valentino with his Farnese cycling team, Gérard Bertrand as former rugby player who rose to the captainship of the French national team. With six listings in our top 100 wines, including a Super 10, this French wine guru more than deserves his victory. See a full interview plus descriptions of several other excellent wines by this producer in this section on Saturday 28 April."
