Drinks Business Rose Masters 2017/the results

The final revelation from this year’s Rosé Masters concerned one particular producer, that, significantly, isn’t within the hallowed terroir of the Côtes de Provence. The appellation is the Languedoc, and the producer is Gerard Bertrand. Gaining one Master, one Gold and two Silvers, it is clear that Gerard Bertrand is the new name to watch in rosé.

At Gérard Bertrand we can easily congratulate ourselves and we see life through rose-coloured glasses; this is  an easy play on the word but oh so true when we read with pleasure the glowing article of editor-in-chief Patrick Schmitt, of the magazine drinks business @teamdb  (7th August, 2017)

The subject itself tells of a global Rosé competition from several countries (about 200) made in London on May 17, 2017 by an experts jury composed of:

Patrick Schmitt MW, Editor-in-chief, the drinks business

Antony Moss MW, Director of strategic planning, WSET

Jonathan Pedley MW, Wine lecturer and Consultant

Christine Parkinson, group head of wine, The Hakkasan Group

Clive Barlow MW, Wine trainer and consultant

Clément Robert MS, Group head sommelier and wine buyer

Elizabeth Gabay MW, Wine writer, Provençal rosé specialist

Dee Blackstock MW, Wine buyer and consultant

Beverly Blanning MW, Wine writer and lecturer

Patricia Stefanowicz MW, Wine educator and consultant

The best wines win medals ranging from Bronze, Gold to Master. The results at Gérard Bertrand are at least flattering:

2018 promises to target the stars, with Gérard Bertand it goes without saying!
